Nevadans Back Bill Aimed At Child Sex Abuse

Two Nevada lawmakers are among the sponsors of a new bill to expand federal grants to provide training in spotting and reporting child sex abuse.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Representative Joe Heck helped introduce the bill in the House and Dean Heller is a co-sponsor of the Senate version.

It would add sex abuse prevention to the list of eligible uses for money awarded through a domestic violence grant program.

Twenty-six states including Nevada have passed a version of the so-called "Erin’s Law" that requires schools to teach students and workers about child sex abuse.
