Smoke From SoCal Fire Prompts LV Health Warning

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A smoky haze from a Southern California wildfire created a red sunrise in the Las Vegas area and prompted air quality officials to issue a health advisory for people with respiratory ailments.

The Clark County Department of Air Quality in Las Vegas blamed a 27-square-mile wildfire in the San Bernardino Mountains near Big Bear Lake for smoke wafting Wednesday more than 200 miles to the northeast.

The smoke advisory in southern Nevada was expected to remain in effect through Friday.
