CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada lawmakers have approved a measure that would let people buy more locally distilled bottles of liquor.
Assembly members voted unanimously to approve SB246 on Monday, after the Senate unanimously voted for the bill in April.
The bill removes a difficult-to-enforce cap limiting craft distilleries to selling no more than two bottles of liquor to a person in a month. It increases the limit to a case of 24 bottles per month, and limits individuals to buying six cases in a year.
The measure also doubles the quantity of liquor that can be produced for export to 40,000 cases a year. It also allows craft distilleries to donate liquor for charitable or nonprofit purposes.
The bill now heads to Gov. Brian Sandoval's desk for approval.
