RENO, Nev. (AP) — U.S. Highway 50 will have lanes closed in both directions Sunday as construction of a new off-ramp begins.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the ramp is part of a project to construct an overpass on U.S. 50. The goal is to build another access point to the highway for residents and nearby businesses. Adding the off-ramp should relieve traffic and travel times.
Officials say closures are expected along the highway from El Dorado Hills Boulevard, which turns into Latrobe Road, to Bass Lake Road. Lanes could be closed from 6 to 8 a.m. Sunday.
Drivers are encouraged to take other routes to bypass the closures.
Construction on the Silva Valley Parkway Interchange Project began in November 2013 and is expected to be finished next year.
