BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo's iconic Anchor Bar is winging westward with plans sell its chicken wings at new location in Las Vegas.
The management of the restaurant credited with inventing Buffalo-style chicken wings more than 50 years ago says it will open an Anchor Bar at the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, a hotel and resort casino on the Vegas Strip.
Anchor Bar vice president Mark Dempsey says the Vegas location will be a quick-service operation, not a full-service restaurant. It's the company's first location in the West.
In addition to its flagship restaurant on Buffalo's Main Street, the Anchor Bar has locations in suburban Williamsville, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, the Darien Lake Theme Park in nearby Genesee County, and across the Canadian border in Hamilton, Ontario.
