Mexican Independence Day is approaching, which is in fact, a whole season in Las Vegas - not only one day. With a wide and exciting range of events held each year in the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas greets more than 300,000 visitors from Mexico.
Christine Crews, a spokesperson at McCarran International Airport says 5800 guests from Mexico are expected only this week, with 17 charter flights scheduled for Friday. A Mariachi Band will greet visitors at the airport's international arrivals lobby 3.
Special cuisine will be assembled by celebrity chefs at the top-notch restaurants in town. Executive Chef Reed Osterholt at Hecho en Vegas at MGM Grant Hotel & Casino will provide Sonoran-style cooking of Northern Mexico.
And don’t forget to pin your calendar for colorful festivals, witty stand-up comedians, a boxers’ rematch, and Latin dance and music.
Just to name few:
Marco Antonio Solis at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on September 12;
Latin music superstar Luis Miguel at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, September 12-14;
Comedian Gabriel Iglesias at The MirageHotel & Casino, September 12-14;
Marc Anthony at Planet Hollywood September 13;
Mexican Mariachi singer Alejandro Fernandez at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino on Sept. 14.
