Nevada's Teen Pregnancy Rate Falls

Nevada’s teenage pregnancy rates remain one of the highest in the country, but there might be a silver lining.

A new report by non-profit Guttmacher Institute shows teen pregnancy rates in the Silver State have dropped dramatically over the past 25 years. According to the report, Nevada's rate was seventh-highest in 2010 with 68 pregnancies per 1,000 teens. That's less than half reported in 1988, when there were 142 per 1,000. About 6,000 Nevada teens became pregnant in 2010.
