Washoe School District Seeks Funding

Washoe County Schools are looking for 20 million dollars to fund building repairs. Nevada Assembly Bill 46 puts the power to enact a proposal that would draw in that revenue in the hands of the Washoe County Commissioners.

The plan on the table is one that would increase sales tax by one quarter of one percent, and property tax by five cents per 100 dollars of assessed property value.

But the proposal must be approved by four out of five county commissioners by January 1 st.
