Nevada Wins Negotiations In Lake Tahoe Compact

The California Assembly passed a bill last week that will give local authorities more discretion over development at Lake Tahoe. Nevada officials have been asking for these changes for years, and finally threatened to pull out of the compact if California didn't go along. The threat worked, and California officials agreed to the amendments. So how will this change the landscape around Lake Tahoe? And will it affect the lake's legendary clarity?
