The Longest Fight

In 1906, the longest boxing match ever took place in Goldfield, Nevada. It was  a racially-charged match between an African American champion and a tough white brawler known as Battling Nelson. Long-time Washington Post sports writer William Gildea has written an account of the fight. We talk about the tragedies of Gans's career and the fading glory of Goldfield, Nevada.
