Atomic Comics

Atomic Man, Godzilla and Mighty Mouse are all children of the Atomic Age. Their stories all relied on nuclear fission or atomic weapons. Even superheroes like Batman and Captain Marvel were part of the atomic age. Captain Marvel even saved some people at the Nevada Test Site. The story is told in the last book written by the late Ferenc Morton Szasz. We talk with his widow, who also teaches history at the University of New Mexico, about the story of 'Atomic Comics.'
