On January 18, 1910, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce was founded with 85 members.
Chamber President, James Givens stated during his speech, "We cannot stand still; we go either forward or backward, and it is up to us now to enter upon a period of increased progress and activity. The keynote of this new growth should be publicity."
The chamber began promoting Las Vegas and a century later, is still doing so.
