NV COVID-19 Task Force Says Clark, Washoe County Bars Will Stay Closed

Bars and taverns in the Las Vegas and Reno-Sparks areas will remain closed for at least two more weeks.

Nevada’s new coronavirus mitigation task force voted to extend state closure orders for Clark and Washoe counties on Thursday. Members cited concerns about positive test rates, business compliance and enforcement. The state will work with the two counties on refining their plans for approval.

Closure orders expire at 11:59 Thursday night for Lander and Humboldt counties. The task force also approved Nye County’s plan to reopen bars and taverns in rural areas only - outside Pahrump.

Elko County is still working on its reopening plan and expects to submit it for approval next week.

The reopening businesses still must adhere to state guidelines on limited occupancy, social distancing, face coverings and other preventive measures.
