The Mississippi Gaming Commission approved Reno-based Eldorado Resorts’ acquisition of Caesars Entertainment Corporation.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports regulators in Missouri, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Iowa also have approved the merger.
The two casino companies need approval from regulatory bodies in all 17 states in which the merged company will operate.
The deal also has to be approved by the Federal Trade Commission.
