Acting UNLV President Won't Pursue Job Permanently

University of Nevada Las Vegas acting President Marta Meana says she won’t pursue the job permanently.

She told faculty, staff and students in a statement Monday her time in the post “has been the honor of a lifetime,” but she’s not the right fit for the university’s “need for a president who can make a commitment for an extended period of time.”

Members of the search committee have said longevity is a priority in selecting a candidate for the permanent position. Last Friday was the application deadline.
