Nevada Sees 50% Drop In Traffic Fatalities

Traffic deaths in Nevada are down nearly 50 percent from the same time last year.

According to data from the Department of Public Safety, there were 16 fatal crashes resulting in 16 deaths in June in Nevada.

That’s 48 percent less than June 2018.

2018 was one of the deadliest years on state roads in a decade, ending with a total of 331 fatalities.

State officials say despite the dip in overall roadway fatalities, pedestrian deaths are still higher than usual.

Thirty-eight pedestrians were killed on Nevada roads through June – 19 percent higher than last year.
