County To Study Traffic Safety Near Where Boy Was Hit And Killed

Clark County will conduct a traffic safety study on a stretch of road near an intersection where a 12-year old boy was killed and another was injured this week.

12-year-old Jonathan Smith and a friend were attempting to cross the road near Fort Apache Road and Arby Avenue. They were not in a crosswalk when they both were hit.

The driver will likely not face charges.  A county spokesman said the study will take four to six weeks to complete.
