Drivers will need to find alternative routes on Charleston near downtown starting tonight.
Charleston Boulevard will be closed to traffic between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. today and Wednesday on both directions at Interstate 15.
The Nevada Department of Transportation said work crews will be building a new bridge.
Tonight, crews will place nine bridge girders, each stretching 115 feet and weighing 160,000 pounds.
The bridge is part of “The Main Event” portion of Project Neon, the $1 billion widening of I-15 from the Spaghetti Bowl to Sahara Avenue. Project Neon is scheduled to wrap up next summer.
