Zaragoza Named New CSN President

Federico Zaragoza was voted in unanimously as the next president of the College of Southern Nevada by the Nevada System of Higher Education at a special meeting Friday.

Zaragoza has been the vice chancellor for economic and workforce development at Alamo Colleges District in Texas since 2004.  He is credited with helping to more than double the graduation rate in the district. He will assume his new position at CSN on August 15.

Zaragoza says he feels “privileged and honored to be given this opportunity” and that he wishes for CSN to be “the best [community college] in the country.”
