Public Hearing On Yucca Mountain To Be Held Friday

Nevadans will get their chance to give input on the proposed Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste repository on Friday when the Legislative Committee on High-Level Radioactive Waste convenes in Las Vegas.

The is the second and final meeting the committee will hold this year.

The subject has gained renewed attention after President Donald Trump included funding for it in his proposed budget.

Congress, however, failed to follow through on the budget request so for now, the project remains stalled.

The committee will meet at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the Grant Sawyer State Office Building on Washington Avenue.
