Dispute Between Developer And Contractor Delays New Housing Near UNLV

A new housing project near the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus is behind schedule.

Construction activity has stalled since September at the Degree Apartments at the corner of South Maryland Parkway and Cottage Grove Avenue.

It was initially slated to open in time for the fall 2017 semester.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the delay has to do with disputes between the project developer and its general contractor.

At a Board of Regents meeting in December, project developer Eric Midby said the goal was to resume construction by January 1.

The project sits at around 70 percent complete, but no work has resumed.
