AG Laxalt Appoints New Assistant AG

Nevada Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt appointed J. Brin Gibson to the post of assistant attorney general Tuesday.

In 2015, Gibson joined the office as the Chief of the Gaming Division, and later held multiple posts such as the Bureau Chief of Gaming, Natural Resources and Government Affairs and Boards and Open Government.

Gibson also taught water law at the William S. Boyd School of Law and was appointed twice to the Colorado River Commission.

The assistant AG position has been vacant since November when Wes Duncan left the position for a job in the private sector.

Duncan is also running for Attorney General, which he announced when Laxalt announced his campaign for governor.
