UNLV Hires Sports Law Firm For Stadium Deal

The Raiders football team might be hearing from UNLV’s lawyers soon.

The University of Nevada-Las Vegas officially hired Daniel Etna of Herrick Feinstein – a law firm based in New York that specializes in sports law.

The Las Vegas sun reportsthe agreement between Herrick and the university can extend up to two years, although negotiations with the Raiders will likely wrap up over the next few weeks.

The moves comes after the Raiders submitted the first draft of a joint-use lease agreement to the university, that specified UNLV would foot most of the space for stadium parking.

The $1.9 billion stadium to be built at Russell Road and Interstate 15 will only have about 2,400 parking spaces – which amounts to just 15 percent of the total needed for a 65,000-seat stadium. The stadium is also supposed to host Rebel football games.
