Public Forum On Gold Butte National Monument Postponed

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has postponed an upcoming public forum on Gold Butte National Monument.

The Department of the Interior is conducting a national review of Gold Butte and Basin and Range in Nevada as well as 21 other monuments nationwide designated by the Antiquities Act.

BLM officials were slated to host the latest in a series of informational forums on Gold Butte on May 25 in North Las Vegas, but they decided to delay the meeting until the broader monument review is complete.

The secretary of the department of the interior, Ryan Zinke, visited Utah last week to hear public review on the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante monuments. He is expected to complete a report mainly focused on Bears Ears by the second week of June.
