Sandoval Distances Himself From Trump Administration Comments, Positions

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval distanced himself from recent remarks and policies from the new Republican presidential administration.

During a discussion at a National Governors Association meeting held Wednesday in Washington, D.C., Sandoval said putting a wall on the border with Mexico was not a priority in his eyes.

Sandoval said he wanted federal lawmakers to work on reforming immigration policies instead.

The remarks came as the Trump administration signed an executive order Wednesday calling for the construction of the border wall oft-discussed during the campaign, and another executive order concerning sanctuary cities & deportations.

Sandoval also hit back against the false accusations of widespread voter fraud during the 2016 election, saying as it related to Nevada at least, he wasn't aware of any voting issues & thought the matter was not worth the time to investigate at a federal level.
