Pyramid Lake in northern Nevada will likely remain closed until April due to flooding earlier this month.
KRNV-TV reports that Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe chair Vinton Hawley said Monday that the lake will remain closed in part because beach access roads suffered damage in early January flooding. Some areas are also still dealing with runoff.
Hawley says officials expect to re-open parts of the lake in early April, weather permitting. Until then, no permits will be issued.

He also said Highway 446, which connects Nixon to Sutcliffe and runs along the lake, will be closed to the public for several months due to damage.
