Newly released figures show taxicab companies in Clark County are struggling to attract passengers amid increased competition from ride-sharing companies Uber and Lyft.

The Nevada Taxicab Authority says there were more than 1.6 million taxi trips in November. That represents a nearly 20 percent drop from the same month last year.

The agency also reported 21.6 million taxi trips during the first 11 months of the year, a decrease of more than 16 percent compared with the same period in 2015.
