The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded nearly $1 million in training grants to Nevada help increase the number of mental health providers and substance abuse counselors statewide.
The $958,000 for Nevada is part of $44.5 million the department announced Thursday to fund 144 new and continuing grants across the country through the Behavioral Health and Workforce Education and Training program.
The program supports clinical internships and field placements for a variety of behavioral health disciplines and occupations.
