Trial Date Set For 2014 Bundy Standoff

A federal magistrate judge in Las Vegas has set a Feb. 6 trial date for rancher Cliven Bundy and 18 other defendants in an armed confrontation with government officers two years ago.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy Leen said in a written order late Tuesday that it'll take time to prepare for trial involving 19 defendants, more than 30 government witnesses and an exceptionally large amount of evidence.

Last week, she canceled a May 2 trial date as unrealistic.

Her decision could mean a long time in jail ahead of trial for Bundy, four of his sons, and the rest of the defendants.

The conspiracy, obstruction, weapon, threats and assault charges against them could get each the equivalent of life in prison in the April 2014 standoff near Bunkerville.
