CD-3 GOP Candidates Hold Forum

Republican candidates vying for Rep. Joe Heck's congressional seat are staking out positions on when it's OK to raise taxes and whether they'd support Donald Trump if he's the nominee.

Candidates for the 3rd Congressional District seat in southern Nevada talked policy Tuesday at a forum moderated by conservative talk radio host Alan Stock.

Top-ranking state Sen. Michael Roberson and businessman Danny Tarkanian are the front runners in terms of fundraising. They've taken opposite stances on a tax package passed by the Republican-controlled Legislature last year.

Five other Republicans want the seat that fellow Republican Heck is leaving to run for Senate. Candidates include Assemblywoman Michele Fiore, Dr. Annette Teijeiro, Andy Matthews, Kerry Bowers and Sami Khal.

Democrats in the race include synagogue leader Jacky Rosen and attorney Jesse Sbaih.
