The Bureau of Land Management is holding a public hearing in Elko this week to discuss matters related to the sage grouse protection plans currently under discussion.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports the meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Elko Convention Center.
BLM officials are seeking public comment on these plans, which would involve taking millions of acres out of future development for mining operations and setting them aside for conservation.
