National Weather Service Suggests Drought Relief Coming Soon

The latest forecasts from the National Weather Service suggest southern Nevada's drought might start to abate.

The El Niño weather pattern that is set to hit the United States this winter is expected to bring increased rain to parts of California, Nevada and Arizona.

While drought is expected to persist in parts of northern California and Nevada, and improve slightly in southwestern Nevada, Clark County could see marked improvements to an elimination of drought altogether through February.

The National Weather Service cautions, though, that due to persistent drought throughout much of the southwest, one very wet winter may not be enough to completely eliminate drought conditions in the region.
