National Finals Rodeo To Remain At Thomas & Mack Center

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials say the National Finals Rodeo will return to the Thomas & Mack Center on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus this December and up to 10 more years.

Las Vegas Events announced the deal Tuesday but declined to say how much rent it will be paying.

The arena is spending $72 million on upgrades including new seats, more concessions and meeting space.

Las Vegas Events is the official events producer for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

Tuesday's deal goes hand-in-hand with last year's agreement between the tourism agency and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association to keep the 10-day rodeo in Las Vegas through 2024.

The National Finals Rodeo returns Dec. 3-12 with riding, roping and racing. Las Vegas Events says the rodeo attracted 177,565 watchers last year.
