LAS VEGAS (AP) - A lawyer who lives in Henderson and a federal prosecutor in Las Vegas have been appointed to two vacant Nevada state court judge positions.
Gov. Brian Sandoval on Thursday named Joseph Paul "Joe" Hardy Jr. and Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis Eric Johnson to fill Clark County District Court vacancies created by the appointment of Abbi Silver and Jerome "Jerry" Tao to the Nevada Court of Appeals.
Hardy is 42 and a partner with the law firm Gordon & Rees. He's a Nevada Taxicab Authority member and the son of Republican state Sen. Joe Hardy of Boulder City.
Johnson is 54, and has headed the criminal division of the U.S. attorney's office in Nevada for several years. His wife, Susan Johnson, is also a Clark County District Court judge.
