An investigation has found a Clark County School Board Trustee no longer lives in the district that elected her, as required by law.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports five members of the school board in May asked District Attorney Steve Wolfson to investigate Trustee Katie Williams. They said Williams had been attending meetings remotely and was no longer residing in the district or fulfilling her duties.
Williams had announced on social media that she started a new job for a Nebraska-based law firm.
In a letter Wednesday, the district attorney’s office said it will begin proceedings to declare Williams’ board seat vacant due to her “ceasing to be an actual resident of the State of Nevada.”
Wolfson asks that Williams respond in writing by Sept. 9 whether she intends to relinquish her seat.
