Poems can be inspired by just about anything, and that, obviously, includes works of art. Those poems are known as ekphrastic poetry. In this final workshop of three, beginning and experienced poets are invited to use artworks from Left of Center’s collections to inspire their own ekphrastic poems.

Join writer Lauren Gleave to explore the works in the African Art Museum at LOC. Poets will gain inspiration by their interactions with the art, their movement through the space, and the emotions that surround that experience of communing with visual art pieces.
