Lake Mead Mohave Adventures hosts Preseid watch
The Perseid meteor shower coincides with a new moon that will leave skies exceptionally dark for viewing. Visitors at Temple Bar can expect ideal conditions to witness one of the Northern Hemisphere's most prolific meteor showers. Under similarly dark skies, observers often report seeing up to 90 meteors per hour. The Perseids are known for producing bright, colorful meteors that frequently leave glowing trails across the sky, creating a highly anticipated event for stargazers.
Located on the eastern shore of Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Temple Bar Resort & Marina offers minimal light pollution and expansive desert skies that make it an exceptional destination for astronomical viewing. The remote setting provides unobstructed views of the night sky, while the surrounding desert landscape creates a dramatic backdrop for the celestial display.
Starts at 11 p.m. and runs into Wednesday. Free, more info at Get Tickets.
