Hear ye, hear ye! Knights, swords and cocktails!

Who said chivalry is dead? Join us Feb. 29 for an evening with the knights and damsels and various sword-wielding awesome people of medieval recreation group  Society for Creative Anachronism.

They're a group of medieval role-players who dress, cook and, yes, fight according to the custom of the Middle Ages. We'll talk with members Mike Wolff and Conrad Claus, who'll share the story of the SCA, talk about how to forge a good sword, and then give a rousing battle demonstration (duck!). It promises to be a great evening of cocktails, conversation and sharp objects

"Knights, swords and cocktails!" takes place 5:30 p.m. Feb. 29 at The Lady Silvia at 900 Las Vegas Blvd. S. (entrance on Hoover Ave.), located in the Soho Lofts building.
