At a news conference Thursday, law enforcement officials revealed the name of the suspect in the March 18 fire at a Tesla collision center in Las Vegas.

Using video gathered from some 700 locations, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police identified and arrested Paul Kim, 36, of Las Vegas.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill said Kim was arrested without incident the evening of March 26. He faces 15 charges, including suspicion of arson, possessing and disposing of a fire device, and discharging a firearm into a vehicle.

Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren said Kim’s social media posts indicated loose ties to different groups, including Communist Party USA and Hidden Palestine.

The fire came nearly three months after the Jan. 1 suicide and explosion inside a Tesla Cybertruck in front of the Trump International Hotel near the Las Vegas Strip.

Because Tesla’s CEO is Elon Musk, a close advisor to President Donald Trump, Sheriff McMahill said police were keeping a close watch on the Vegas Loop, an underground transit project of Musk’s Boring Company.

"We have been at a heightened level of security for all of those locations of the Boring tunnel that are mostly along the Las Vegas Strip corridor as we speak," McMahill said.

The FBI’s Spencer Evans said Kim would also face federal charges, likely related to arson involving a destructive device.
