KNPR's State of Nevada will be broadcasting Monday through Thursday this summer, with two BBC programs airing on Fridays.
On Fridays, Nevada Public Radio will offer two programs: at 9 a.m., we’ll present the BBC’s program Outside Source.
The BBC describes it as “a vibrant account of the day’s events, with explanation and reaction from those involved.”
Recent stories have been about modern-day slavery, perspectives from and reaction to Donald Trump’s core supporters, the experiences of refugees building new lives, and details about “deep listening,” a way to discuss difficult topics with people who have different opinions from you, as well as breaking news worldwide as an integral part of the program.
At 7 p.m. on Fridays, we’ll bring you a weekly program you may have heard occasionally on some Friday nights at 9 p.m., Climate One.
The program’s producers describe it as a program “focused on elevating critical conversations around climate change.”
Nevada’s experiences with the Colorado River have put it on the leading edge of climate change, and Climate One represents an excellent opportunity to focus attention on the many issues of climate that exist all around us.
We hope you’ll join us every Friday.
