It's with knuckles bruised from exuberant fist-bumping and elbow tendons strained by high-fiving that we note Desert Companion's showing in this weekend's prestigious Maggie Awards, handed out in Los Angeles by the Western Publishing Association. The cover of our April 2013 spring fashion issue, above, shared top honors in the category of cover design for consumer magazines with a circulation of less than 75,000. Whatever the color of stoked is, color us stoked.
To the judges, we say thanks for recognizing the fine work of Art Director Christopher Smith, photographer Robert Kley, stylist Christie Moeller, hair/makeup artist Krystle Randall and model Britt. To Bike magazine, with which we shared the top spot, we say, you're going down next year! And to the readers of Desert Companion, we say thanks for your continued support.
