The Moapa Band of Paiutes is working on its first solar power plant, and now has Federal clearance for a second, on the tribe’s land about 30 miles north of Las Vegas.
The 200-megawatt photovoltaic array will be built with the backing of NV Energy with the aim of generating enough electricity for 60,000 homes. The project should create up to 500 temporary construction jobs and 10 permanent positions.
