Arizona To Hold June Meetings On Corridor For Interstate 11

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona officials say six meetings scheduled in June will allow the public to have a say in planning for the proposed Interstate 11 that would connect southern Arizona with northern Nevada.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says it scheduled the meetings as it moves ahead with a three-year environmental study for a corridor between Nogales on the U.S.-Mexico border and Wickenburg northwest of Phoenix.

The department says the discussion topics for the meetings likely will include potential routes for the corridor, environmental considerations and cultural resources.

Meetings will be held June 8 in Casa Grande, June 15 in Buckeye, June 21 in Nogales, June 22 in Tucson, June 23 in Marana and June 29 in Wickenburg.

Arizona likely would follow U.S. 93 from Wickenburg to the Hoover Dam bypass bridge.
