A police officer walks under crime scene tape in the aftermath of a shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, in Las Vegas.

Eight months ago, a tragic shooting at UNLV's Frank and Estella Beam Hall claimed the lives of three professors. The shooter was subsequently killed by police.

In the immediate aftermath, faculty demanded enhanced campus security.

Now, as a new academic year begins, Beam Hall has reopened with significant security upgrades in place.

What do those improvements entail? Will they be administered throughout UNLV in the near future? And how do faculty and staff feel about the improvements?

Guests: Doug Unger, chapter president, Nevada Faculty Alliance — UNLV; Musa Pam, vice president of facilities management, UNLV
