Road improvement is something we all deal with, because this is a driving state. As Reno gets hotter and Las Vegas summers become unbearable, we get around in air-conditioned vehicles.
And as we deal with all the construction, we try to make light of it with a sort of roadway gallows humor: there’s Dropicana or as some locals called it, Tropageddeon, and the orange traffic cone … informally nominated as our state flower.
But road improvement is here to stay. Maryland Parkway is getting a huge makeover, plans are being drawn up for big changes on ever-crowded Spring Mountain Road and Boulder Highway will get the safety treatment.
