The beating death of a Rancho High School teenager touched a nerve in Nevada.
Jonathan Lewis Jr. was beaten by a group of teens earlier this month. By the time he got to the hospital, he was braindead. His parents allowed his organs to be donated.
Nine of the suspects are under 18. Some are just 13. Four will be charged as adults. One suspect remains at large.
The heartbroken plea by the boy’s father for people to stop resorting to violence—led to an outpouring of support. A GoFundMe page asking for $25,000 has raised $132,000 as of Nov. 27.
Money won’t heal the loss and pain by so many families broken by the murder. But can anything be done to stop senseless violence?
