Gov. Steve Sisolak on Thursday launched "Home Means Nevada," the biggest investment in affordable housing in Nevada.
It was announced at the site of a senior apartment complex being built in Las Vegas. The initiative comes after the Nevada Legislature approved $250 million last week.
"I am so proud to announce that the state is ready to begin accepting pre-applications for new and ongoing development projects," Sisolak said.
Applications are live on NevadaRecovers.com.
"If you’re a developer and you’ve got a shovel-ready project, we want you to partner with us and help us transform these dollars into housing units. If you have local projects in the works, let us partner with you to get them over the finish line," he said.
The governor along with Nevada's congressional members and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development were on hand for the commemoration.
