1 Dead, Several Rescued Hurt From Las Vegas Apartment Fire

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities said one person died and at least three others injured as they were rescued from a burning apartment not far from the Las Vegas Strip.

Clark County Fire Battalion Chief Rian Glassford said the fire was reported a little before 11 a.m. Tuesday in a downstairs unit of a two-story building, and arriving firefighters rescued at least four people inside.

Several adjoining four-unit apartment buildings in the closely built complex were evacuated and the American Red Cross was helping displaced neighbors.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
