LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought against a blogger by a Las Vegas hotel and casino for reporting a rumor that the property would close.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports District Judge Trevor Atkin dismissed the lawsuit alleging defamation filed by Sahara Las Vegas against Scott Roeben, who runs the website vitalvegas.com.
Sahara agreed to drop all but one of five charges in the complaint. The lawsuit was filed in August after Roeben posted a social media message reporting an unconfirmed rumor that the business could close permanently in September.
