No Major Incidents during Las Vegas Protest Tuesday Night

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Participants in a Las Vegas protest against the death of George Floyd while in Minneapolis police custody dispersed after a demonstration that lasted nearly five hours Tuesday night and was without major reported problems.

That was in contrast to Monday night when a 29-year-old Las Vegas police officer was shot and wounded during a protest outside a hotel and casino and an armed man was fatally shot by law enforcement officers a few miles away during a protest outside a federal courthouse.

A man was arrested in the shooting of Officer Shay Mikalonis, who was reported in critical condition.

How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
